Terms and Conditions for Solitaire Land

  1. Introduction
    Solitaire Land (hereinafter referred to as the "Website") is an online platform that offers users the ability to play solitaire games, including but not limited to Spider Solitaire and FreeCell. These terms and conditions (the "Terms") govern your use of the Website. By accessing or using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Website.

  2. Use of the Website
    You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the Website for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not use the Website for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any of the material on our Website, except as follows:

  • Your computer may temporarily store copies of such materials in RAM incidental to your accessing and viewing those materials.
  • You may store files that are automatically cached by your Web browser for display enhancement purposes.

  1. Accounts
    You can play without an account. If you create one, you must be at least 16, give a real email address you can use, keep your password to yourself and not create accounts for others or in bulk. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time in your account in the game. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, for example by cheating or by abusing other players or the Website, and we will tell you why.

  2. Names and photos
    You can choose a display name and upload a photo ("your content"). You keep all rights in your content. You give Solitaire Land a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, resize and show your content on the Website and in its features (such as leaderboards, replays and profiles) for as long as it is on the Website; the licence ends when you remove it or delete your account, except for copies in backups, which are overwritten within about two months.

    Your content must not: be sexual, violent, hateful or harassing; insult or threaten anyone; pretend to be another person, Solitaire Land or its staff; show another person without their permission; contain personal details such as phone numbers or addresses; advertise or link to anything; or break the law or anyone's rights.

    We check names and photos automatically and players can report them. We may hold, hide, reset or remove content that breaks these rules, and limit or close accounts that repeatedly do so. When we act on your content we tell you what we did and why, and you can reply to us to disagree. To report content, use the Report button next to it or write to us.

  3. Fair play
    Scores, wins and leaderboards are for games you play yourself. Using programs, scripts or changes to the game to win or post results is not allowed. We check wins and may remove results, achievements and leaderboard places that are not genuine.

  4. Proprietary Rights
    The Website and its entire contents, features, and functionality (including but not limited to all information, software, text, displays, images, video, and audio, and the design, selection, and arrangement thereof), are owned by Solitaire Land, its licensors, or other providers of such material and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other proprietary or intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.

    This does not apply to:
      *  The card images which follow the MIT License (the GitHub repository is available here). Thank you Matt Cain for the amazing set of cards.
      *  The icons from the Solar icon set by 480 Design, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license (CC BY 4.0) (the set is available here).
      *  The country flags from the flag-icons set by Panayiotis Lipiridis, used under the MIT License (the set is available here).
      *  The fonts used in the Website.

  5. Disclaimers
    The Website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Solitaire Land makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, as to the operation of the Website or the information, content, materials, or products included on the Website. You expressly agree that your use of the Website is at your sole risk.

  6. Limitation of Liability
    To the extent the law allows, Solitaire Land is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the loss of game progress, scores or achievements. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your rights as a consumer.

  7. Modifications to the Terms
    Solitaire Land reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of the Website following the posting of any changes to the Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

  8. General Terms
    These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Solitaire Land with respect to the use of the Website. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be struck and the remaining provisions shall be enforced. The failure of Solitaire Land to enforce any right or provision in these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision unless acknowledged and agreed to by us in writing.
