Klondike Solitaire Games
Klondike is the classic solitaire, the game many people simply call Solitaire. You sort a shuffled deck into four piles, one for each suit, from Ace to King. On Solitaire Land you can play it two ways, and the only difference is how many cards the stock turns over at a time.
How Klondike works
The cards are dealt into seven columns, and only the last card of each column is face up. In the columns you build down in alternating colours, such as a red 6 on a black 7. Only a King can go into an empty column. When you are stuck, you turn cards from the stock. You win when all 52 cards are on the four foundation piles.
1 card or 3 cards?
Klondike Solitaire 1 Card turns one card at a time, so you can reach every card in the stock on every pass. It is the best place to start. Klondike Solitaire 3 Cards turns three cards at a time and only the top one can be played, so some cards stay out of reach until you play the ones above them. It takes more planning, and players win it much less often.
If you like Klondike and want something new, try Yukon Solitaire, which has no stock and lets you move any face-up card, or FreeCell Solitaire, where every card is face up from the start.
