Spider Solitaire Games
Spider Solitaire is all about building runs from King down to Ace in one suit. When a run is complete, it leaves the table, and you win when the table is empty. On Solitaire Land the Spider family has ten games: the three classic versions of Spider, and the Scorpion games, which build the same kind of runs with a single deck.
Spider with 1, 2 or 4 suits
Classic Spider uses two decks dealt into ten columns, and the stock deals one more card onto every column. The rules are the same in all three versions. Only the number of suits changes. Spider Solitaire 1 Suit uses only Hearts, so any card fits on any card one higher, and it is the easiest to win. Spider Solitaire 2 Suits uses Spades and Hearts and is the most played Spider game here. Spider Solitaire 4 Suits uses all four suits and is one of the hardest games on the site.
Scorpion, Wasp and Three Blind Mice
The Scorpion games use one deck and build runs by suit, like Spider, but you can move any face-up card together with all the cards on top of it, even if they are not in order. Scorpion Solitaire is the classic. Wasp Solitaire lets any card fill an empty column, which makes it more forgiving, and Three Blind Mice Solitaire deals ten columns of five cards. All seven are explained on the Scorpion games page.
Which one to start with
New to Spider? Start with Spider Solitaire 1 Suit to learn how runs and the stock work, then move on to 2 suits. If you prefer to see more cards from the start, Scorpion II Solitaire and Wasp II Solitaire begin with fewer hidden cards.
