Play Suspension Solitaire Online for Free
Suspension Solitaire lays out 33 cards in the shape of a suspension bridge: two tall towers at the sides and three groups of cards hanging between them. Only 5 cards start face up, so it is one of the harder games in the Tripeaks Solitaire family. You can play it here for free, online, with no download and no sign-up, and in full screen if you like.
How to play Suspension Solitaire
Goal
Clear every card from the layout by moving them onto the waste pile.
The deal
The game uses one deck of 52 cards.
- Towers: two columns of 9 overlapping cards, one at each side. Only the bottom card of each tower is face up.
- Middle: three groups of 4 face-down cards, each held down by 1 face-up card on top.
- Stock: the other 19 cards, face down.
- Waste: starts empty, next to the stock.
Rules
- Playing a card: click a free card in the layout to move it onto the waste. It must be one rank higher or one rank lower than the top card of the waste. Suits and colours don't matter. On a 7 you can play a 6 or an 8.
- King and Ace connect: an Ace can go on a King or a 2, and a King can go on a Queen or an Ace. So you can keep a chain going round the corner: Q, K, A, 2.
- Free cards: a card is free when no other card lies on top of it. When a face-down card is uncovered, it turns face up.
- The first card: the waste starts empty, so your first card can be any free card in the layout. You can also start by turning a card from the stock.
- The stock: when you can't or don't want to play, click the stock to turn its next card onto the waste. That card becomes the one to play on. There is only one pass through the stock.
- End of the game: you win when every card of the layout is gone. If the stock is empty and no card can be played, the game is over.
Tips to win more often
- Open the middle groups early. Each face-up card in the middle frees 4 cards at once. The towers only give you one card at a time.
- Look for long chains. Before you play, see how far you can go: 6, 7, 8, 7, 6... The longer the chain, the fewer stock cards you need.
- Uncover hidden cards when you can. If two cards can be played, pick the one that turns over a face-down card. More visible cards means more choices.
- Don't rush to the stock. Every stock card you turn is one less chance later. Check the whole layout before you click.
- Think about your first card. Since the waste starts empty, you can begin with any free card. Pick one that starts a long chain.
- Use undo to test ideas. There is no limit on undo. If you are not sure which card is better, try one and go back.
The Tripeaks family
All these games use the same rules: play cards one rank higher or lower onto the waste, and clear the layout. Only the shape of the layout changes, and with it how many cards start hidden and how big the stock is.
- Tripeaks Solitaire: three peaks, 18 cards hidden, 24 in the stock. The classic.
- Bipeaks Solitaire: two tall peaks, 20 cards hidden, 23 in the stock.
- Fourpeaks Solitaire: four peaks, 17 cards hidden, 25 in the stock.
- Reverse Tripeaks Solitaire: three peaks upside down, only 3 cards face up at the start.
- Hole In One Solitaire: ten columns of face-up cards and one hidden card.
- Five Bridges Solitaire: five small bridges over a face-up front row.
- Diamond Solitaire: a diamond of 23 cards and a large stock of 29.
- Bunches Solitaire: three bunches of stacked cards.
- Suspension Solitaire: a bridge with two tall towers and only 5 cards face up.
- Weave Solitaire: 39 cards in layers and a stock of only 13.

Frequently asked questions
Is Suspension Solitaire free?
Yes. Every game on Solitaire Land is free to play in your browser, on a computer, tablet or phone. There is nothing to download and you don't need an account.
Can I play in full screen?
Yes. Use the full screen button in the bar above the game. You can also make the cards bigger or smaller with the zoom slider in the bar below the game.
What does the Hint button do?
It shows you one move you can make right now. It doesn't play the game for you, so you still choose what to do next.
Can I play an Ace on a King?
Yes. Here a King and an Ace connect, so an Ace can go on a King or a 2, and a King on a Queen or an Ace.
What happens when the stock is empty?
You can keep playing cards from the layout as long as one fits. When none fits and the stock is empty, the game is over. There is no second pass through the stock.
What are winnable deals?
A winnable deal is one that at least one player has already won, so you know it can be done. Choose Winnable in the New game menu to play one, or Random for any deal.
